High School Exchange Programmes
There are two 8-week reciprocal exchange programmes for NZ students to spend their summer holidays in Germany. Return visits by German students are usually scheduled for March or July.
For going to Baden-Württemberg or Bayern, please email Dr Kristina McGuiness-King for application forms and information leaflets. Applications for 2023/24 are now open.
For going to Nordrhein-Westfalen, please email Margot Glaser-Brown. The applications for 2023 are due by 1 March 2023. See this link.
Scholarships for High School Students
PAD
The Pedagogical Exchange Service, a German organisation promoting international student and teacher exchange, offers up to three scholarships per year to outstanding high school students in NZ to take part in a four week language course and cultural programme (usually in June or July) for an international group in Germany.

Internationale Deutscholympiade (IDO)
The “Deutscholympiade” is an international competition for top students of German from 30 countries. Two students and one teacher receive support to represent NZ in Germany every other year.
