Auckland
The University of Auckland has exchange partners in Germany for several different subjects. Exchanges dedicated to studying German are: Marburg, Heidelberg, and Freiburg. Other subjects are partnered with public and private universities in Hamburg, Essen, Düsseldorf, Konstanz and Munich.
Waikato
Waikato is partnered with Bremen for exchange across all subjects. The exchanges with Cologne, Düsseldorf and Münster are limited to certain subjects.
Victoria
Vic has probably the largest number of links with German tertiary institutions (currently 9). Students of German can go to Konstanz and Tübingen. All other partners are limited to non-humanities subject such as architecture, design, engineering, law etc.: Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Leipzig, Mainz, Munich, Schwäbisch Gmünd, Wiesbaden.
Canterbury
UC has several partners in Germany. Frankfurt, Konstanz and Freiburg are open to students from German and some other subjects, while WHU Beisheim (Düsseldorf) only accepts Commerce students.
Otago
The University of Otago offers exchanges to Heidelberg, Tübingen, Leipzig for students of German. The exchanges with Cologne and Vienna (Austria) are for economics/commerce students only, and St. Gallen (Switzerland) offers short courses.
